Difference Between Digital Printing and Analog Printing (Part A)

What is analog printing?

Analog printing refers to the printing process in which manually prepared screens / plates are used for printing any type of material.

What is digital printing?

Digital printing refers to the printing process in which computerized control ink jet printers and laser printers are used for the printing any type of material.

Here I have tried to show the readers that digital printing is far better in all ways as compare to analog printing or conventional old style of printing. Basically the differences between both the printing methods make digital printing superior over analog printing and here I have tried my best to highlight those differences. If you are going to print custom business cards through analog printing and digital printing, the differences are given as follows

1. Printing quality

The above mentioned shows the major difference between analog printing and digital printing due to its printing quality from different aspects. One can easily interpret that digital printing is better.

2. Difference in printing process

Here I am going to mention a complete process of analog and digital printing to show you a difference from this aspect.

(a) Analog printing Process

All stages involved in analog printing are given as follows

  1. To print any material first step is to create files for each and every color used in printing and a then to separate those files with respect to their colors.
  2. The second step is to create screen for every file with respect to their colors. It means every color needs a separate screen. These screen are produced by heating process

Third step is to dry the screens

  1. Fourth step is about printing. But here again one has to print each colored file separate from rest and after one and other, all colors will be printed.
  2. Dry the colors
  3. Finally keep the screens safe for next time usage.

(b) Digital Printing Process

Now I have mentioned all the stages involved in custom business cards printing through digital printing

  1. Check the received data. Data can be given through soft copy (via email, data transferring devices etc) or hard copy. If data has been taken in hard copy then it is required to convert it in soft copy by scanning the data.
  1. Set media; give a printing command to ink jet printer or laser printer and printing starts.
  2. Full color or full color CMYK data is printing without any separation of colors.
  3. Keep the data in your computer for printing next time.

The above mentioned printing stages show that how much it is difficult to print custom business cards by using screen printing and how effective is to choose digital printing.

Benefits Associated with Digital Printing

It is an era of new and improved technology. New trends and innovations are taking place rapidly in our daily life. Electronic gadgets have become so important in our lives that we can never deny them. No doubt that technology is serving us in better ways and has improved our living standards. Like all other fields of life we prefer digital printing for printing different products. If you are facing some serious questions regarding your printing needs than digital printing would be the best suitable answer for all your printing needs and issues.

What is digital printing?

Digital printing usually involves the use of laser printing and inkjet printing rather than using orthodox offset printing.

Digital printing is now being widely used by online printing companies for printing large and small format of products.

Benefits associating with digital printing

1. Print more accurately

If you have an image or anything else you want to print, in your computer you just send it to your online printing company to print in bulk. Suppose you have designed a business card. you want to print exactly same business cards as it looks on your computer screen. It would not be a problem for digital online printing companies. With the help of laser printers or inkjet printers every aspect on your business card would be treated with accuracy.

2. Digital printing companies can print small amount

You need not to ask for your printing in thousands. In offset printing method once the plate is made it would be difficult for the professionals to destroy the plates because preparation of the plate needs hard work and cost. That is why customer places his order to print thousands of print before trashing the plates. But in digital printing you may ask to your online digital printing company to print 10 pieces or as minimum as you want as there is no plate involved.

3. Fast turn around

Digital printing is very much helpful in making the product ready with fast turnaround. Online printing companies usually print your material in maximum 5 days.

As I have mentioned earlier that it is an era of digital printing, similarly it would right to say that in digital printing it is an era of Dow Printing. Being a digital online printing company Dow Printing is serving more efficiently to its customers as compare to other digital printing companies.
